Monopoly rights mean the company will not appoint another franchise partner for the same products in your territory. They are the main reason a PCD franchise is worth building — your promotional effort is not undercut by another distributor selling the same brand down the road.
At Acrowell Labs, monopoly rights are recognition for consistent, loyal partners, based on their performance and order size. The investment involved depends on the area, the demand for Acrowell products there and market conditions.
How territories are defined
Usually by district. In large cities the territory may be a zone or set of market areas; in hill or low-density states it may cover more than one district. The territory should be written in the agreement in plain terms.
What is protected
The specific brands and packs listed in your agreement. If you take more products later, they are added to the agreement for the same territory.
What it usually depends on
- A consistent record as an Acrowell partner: performance and order size over time.
- Keeping your licence valid.
- Meeting the order commitment agreed for your territory.
- Not supplying outside your territory in a way that affects other partners.
Questions to ask any company
- Is the territory written into the agreement?
- What happens if I can't meet the order commitment for a quarter?
- Can I add divisions later without a new territory negotiation?
